‘Face of the News’

I slowly (as in glacial, decades-long pace) have a photo-series emerging of ‘scrunched up faces found on the street’. I love these finds. If the aspect of a photograph or image is contorted it can create an eerie, haunting, hysterical feel.

Like most of my shots this isn’t orchestrated, it’s exactly how I found it on one of the streets near my home. It’s a kind of accidental art, which I think, alongside themes of the quiet, the abandoned and the absurd forms a big part of my interest.
