‘Moon Forest’

A few weeks ago a full moon rose between perfectly two hills in a valley near me. It was sunset on a beautiful clear night. Reds, oranges, purple and a great, dusty space ball nestled in the hills.

It’s a spot I photograph almost every day. Unfortunately, I was on a train to London at the time and completely missed it (so had to enjoy my partner’s description instead).

I was gutted I’d missed the chance to shoot it. However, by dumb luck a few weeks later, I caught the moon rising on a different spot above the tree line. Less drama, less symmetry but the light was doing a strange, mercurial dance with the trees and I’m pretty happy with how it came out.
