‘Stately Shadows’

I had an amazing, surreal adventure at a stately home for a special occasion today.

As I wandered around the grounds snapping angles and shadows it struck me how few people were around. We had the place to ourselves, all the way to the horizon. It was a perfect day. Blue skies. The place was full.

I wonder how many perfectly manicured gardens around the planet are quiet and empty most of the time. It’s a beautiful, ridiculous and slightly disturbing thing.
