‘Tree Line’

This continues my series of images that look-a-bit-black-and-white but aren’t.

There are definitely some ‘better’ shots from today’s outing but I’m choosing this one because I fancied something calm and abstract.

There was heavy mist today, which desaturated the sky and re-painted the landscape in inky blacks and blues.

As I was framing this shot, the overhead telephone line was in the way, so I decided to lean into it and make it part of the composition.

When you’re working with this kind of sky and colour palette, sometimes the contrast of manmade and natural can add an interesting element, without being too jarring.
